About John
I discovered my interests in all things production starting in seventh grade. I met my best friend for what was to be the next 25 years or so. We started out experimenting with recording methods to best capture our albums onto our cassette players (we didn't have cassette decks in those days). In subsequent years I gained experience with live sound, photography, more recording, stage management, media production, and other things that I don't remember. My interest in production continued into and beyond college.
After dropping out of college, I had to get a full time job. I was usually involved in production activities where ever I could. All of my friends were production types. I spent my free time devouring trade magazines as this was pre-internet. My life was consumed by production. After a while, I tried to start a recording studio, but I didn't get any business though.
Meanwhile on the career front, I was not having a whole lot of success. I changed jobs often; sometimes it was voluntary, other times, not so much. Fast forward a few years. Things were going along fine when the Great Recession hit. I found myself out of work for two years. I finally landed a really shitty job with a really shitty boss. In July of 2013 there was a company restructuring and I was out of work again. It was then that I decided “no more”. I went back to college to start an animation career.
Much to my wife's chagrin, I built a small, but functional studio in my basement to make the Dada Street series of films. It was here that the concept was born. I am slowly acquiring the tools and developing the series as I slug my way through school, taking the class content and striving to build something long lasting.
Of course, I couldn't do this without the love and support of my wife (especially), family, and friends. Your encouragement prayers, and good vibes sent my way mean the world to me.
It's my hope that you stop by often, pull up a chair, and enjoy yourself.
